Kim Gillen is a 2000 graduate of Pocono Mountain High School and currently resides in Palmerton. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Penn State University in 2004 and graduated with honors. While at Penn State, she was involved with the Penn State Blue Band and performed at the home games in Beaver Stadium. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Widener University School of Law-Harrisburg Campus in 2007.
Attorney Gillen has been employed at the law firm since 2006. As an attorney, Mrs. Gillen has experience in civil and criminal cases. Civil cases include contract disputes, family law issues, unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, landlord tenant disputes, children and youth matters, and other small-claims cases. Criminal cases include defense for traffic offenses, misdemeanor offenses, felony offenses, DUI offenses, and juvenile cases. She is appointed as Conflicts Counsel in Carbon County for criminal cases and is also a court appointed arbitrator and has served as Chairman on Arbitration panels.
Attorney Gillen is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Carbon County Bar Association. Since August 2015, she has been the Secretary for the Carbon County Bar Association.
In 2012, she was appointed as the solicitor for the Carbon County Office of Children and Youth. Attorney Gillen has served as the Carbon County Bar Association Zone II Delegate for the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Carbon County since 2009.
